Hello. Yes 4X is usally a good starting point. Most likey it's going to be Media or firmware. Those are the leading cause of freezing I believe (at least media is?). We're going to need more info if you want a more precise answer: 1. What media are you using? 2. Burner? 3. Firmware? 4. Process you're trying? 5. DVD's your having problems with? 6. Computer specs?
